Interested in Becoming a Member?

The Wayne County Business Referral Group (WCBRG) has been very successful in retaining members. However, we are always interested in bringing new and diverse businesses into the group.

If you are interested in becoming a member, you can download our prospective member application form here.

About Your Membership

Each member is expected to actively participate in meetings and provide referrals to other members. Failure to meet any of the requirements could be grounds for termination.

Referrals: Average one qualified referral/month measured semi-annually.

Business Operation: Primary geographic business area must be Wayne County.

Membership Dues: Initial and ongoing annual membership fee is $60 due and payable the first meeting after becoming a member. Meal fees are $11 a meal per week and are paid monthly. Payment is expected within 14 days of receipt of invoice from the treasurer. Fees may be paid directly to the treasurer or mailed to the address on the invoice.

Fees not paid within 30 days may cause membership to be terminated. Termination is at the discretion of the membership committee.

Member Business Overlap

Each member has been accepted to the group to fill a specific category. However, some of the WCBRG will have overlapping goods and services with other members of the group (e.g. life and health insurance vs. property and casualty even though many agents handle all categories).

Each member is expected to actively promote to the group only the category which they have "closed." If there is a question, please check with the Membership Committee.

Member Recruiting Information for Current Members

Do you have a prospective member that you would like to bring to the group? First, contact the Membership Chair. This officer will discuss the proposed member with the Membership Committee to determine potential conflicts with other members and whether other criteria established by the committee is met.

Multi-level Marketing

"Mult-level" or "network marketing" (MLM) representatives are generally not eligible for membership. However, an MLM representative whose product or service is specific may be considered for membership. In addition, the representatives's operation must be a full-time effort. "Sponsoring" or "recruiting" of other WCBRG members is forbidden.
